We have met so many genuine and good people while on our travels over the last 15 years. There are many couples that we are happy to call friends, but not just the couples I have officiated for but also their friends and family and the talented wedding professionals we have met over the years. I have officiated for friends, siblings and even parents of couples that I officiated for. I have had the honor to be asked by wedding vendors who have seen me over the years, to officiate for them or their family. We keep in touch or follow many of those who we have worked with. We appreciate the support over the years and for couples taking the time to share reviews of their experience. Their support has rewarded us with 9 WeddingWire Couples Choice Awards and 6 Knot Best of Wedding awards and a spot in the Knot Hall of Fame for Officiants. A Unique Ceremony Experience

Welcome and Congratulations!
I began my professional wedding journey over 15 years ago with my lovely wife Carolyn by my side. I did not know what to expect but knew that from our wedding experience that I wanted to offer couples the opportunity to share their journey with their family and friends. With my background in theater / communications and years of public speaking experience, I saw a wedding ceremony as a mini play that shares a couple's interests, joys, disappointments, perseverance and triumphs. A ceremony crafted to connect with family and friends.

With over 15 years of officiating (nearly a thousand weddings) It has been a surreal experience traveling throughout Illinois and meeting unique couples and their family and friends. They have not only welcomed and enjoyed my style of officiating, but they have taught me much along the way. I have combined that learned with my style of writing and speaking to create unique and custom ceremony experiences for couples. I will work with you to capture your relationship and values, whether you prefer a ceremony that is religious, interfaith, non-religious, or any special mentions / rituals you would like to include. It is a pleasure to help couples personalize a ceremony that engages their guests and reflects who they are as individuals and as a couple.

How it all started - our wedding journey

23 years ago, I married my best friend. The best decision I ever made. While planning our wedding, we quickly realized that finding someone to marry us was not as easy as we envisioned. Officiants weren't as popular as they are today, and most couples turned to a pastor / church or went to the courthouse. The pastors and reverends we spoke to (those willing to marry us) didn't offer options or ask for feedback. We had to push just to be allowed to say our own vows. Throughout the process, we asked ourselves, "Why can't we have more influence in our ceremony?" I looked into the process of being ordained in Illinois and discovered that it was quite simple. Just thoughts at the time and we moved forward building our lives.

We kept talking about it until one fateful day when Carolyn approached me about a friend's wedding. They wanted something unique to them and my interest was piqued. I was hesitant, knowing that if I chose to officiate, I was going to take it seriously as a professional. I started researching, talked to pastors, wedding professionals, took classes and became certified. With Carolyn's support, I took the leap and before I knew it, I was officiating 60-80 weddings a year. Carolyn came along at first as a support system for me, that quickly turned into being a support system for wedding couples and their family and friends. From the beginning she was a valuable asset to couples and the overall ceremony experience.

It has been an incredible journey, providing couples a uniquely crafted, meaningful experience. It is a bonus and passion of ours to provide something we couldn't find 22 years ago. Our backgrounds seemed destined for the wedding biz. Carolyn has an extensive background in promotions, event planning / coordination and years of experience working on the office side of catering and knowing the ins and outs of venues.
