I have had the pleasure of officiating and helping coordinate nearly 1,000 weddings. In addition to the wedding biz, I have a background in communications / theater with over 30 years of public speaking experience. Throw in years of fundraising / promotion events, and I am well versed in public events and though I haven't seen it all, I seen most of it, a time or two.
A skilled officiant knows the ins and outs of a ceremony from the processional to the recessional and everything in between. They are skilled in crafting a personalized ceremony that not only includes the elements you desire, but a message that engages your guests, encourages them to reflect, laugh and truly celebrate the moment. They have experience and should be comfortable in front of crowds, large and small; they should be able to project their voice and present the ceremony in an engaging manner. I have encountered delicate situations throughout my career, from writing the script and blending religions or working with sensitive family situations.
